Wolverine Lake Party Store opened in 1946

In August, 2015 we got a very special letter with several old photographs.

Her name was Nancy King Nickol. She currently lives in the state of Oregon. She wrote that her father and grandfather built the store in the early 1940’s. She wrote that her parents ran the store, sold convenience products and had a soda fountain.

It is fascinating to look at the pictures of the inside and outside of the original store. Over 75 years later, we still sell many of the same brands such as, Coca-Cola, Gillette, Post Cereal, Marlboro, General Mills, etc.

 She noted that the store became too much to manage with two young children to raise so they sold the store.

It was very special for us to learn about the early beginnings of the store and we really had no idea that it was built so long ago. We hope that you enjoy the pictures. We also have them displayed inside the store.
